About the role Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, the position is primarily responsible for managing key projects to build a safety focused culture that is supported by appropriate strategies, systems, policies and training programs. Specific projects include the development of a risk register and implementation of the behavioural leadership program. The role is also responsible for coaching and mentoring a small team of Health & Safety advisors, auditing as well as facilitating training sessions. A key deliverable is to encourage and engage not only your team but employees at all levels within the business to take more accountability and ownership for Health and Safety outcomes. Key selection criteria To be successful in this key position you should bring a demonstrated ability to drive the implementation of safety projects, preferably in a high risk operation. Due to the predominantly field based nature of the workforce, the ability to engage and operate at operational as well as management levels with credibility are also very important. A demonstrated ability to write effective and practical policies and procedures as well as exposure to behavioural based safety programs will also be highly regarded. Qualifications are required at minimum Diploma OHS level.
